Jack’s Abby Framingham MA.

img_6361 img_6364 img_6365Jack’s started on a little side street and within a couple of years transformed into a beer hall destination.  Brats, Pretzels, Pizza and of course beer.  All lagers, but made with a great selection of hops.   Recently we went for  a night out and also went next door to their newest venture, Springdale where they are doing sours and IPA’s and using oak barrels to age.  Pinball, and other arcade games.  Even without a beard and skullcap in this hipster haven, I felt welcomed.

It’s amazing that  steakhouse’s are FINALLY starting to carry a decent selection of beers.  How about two of my favorites. The Firestone Union Jack IPA is my new favorite IPA out there.  Hoppy yet smooth.  Aromatic with hints of grapefruit and flowers.  Man, this is good beer.  And of course the Jack’s Abby Smoke and Dagger. Roasted malts, smooth and chocolaty.  It looks so dark that you don’t want to try it. But, it is a very drinkable 5.8% beer that you keep wanting more.  That first smell of smoke is amazing.

And by the way, if you go to the Chophouse early enough, I think 4-6 or 5-7, it’s 1/2 price apps.
